Health Education & Wellness Program
CVD Program

The Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Diabetes Screening Program offers a screening, including a blood pressure reading and lipid panel. All participants receive a risk profile letter that outlines their results.

Phase 1: Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) and Diabetes Screening

The purpose of the CVD screening is to identify employees at varying levels of risk for CVD. CVD risk screenings are available for all KSC and CCAFS employees and will be announced in the KSC Daily News & NASA Community. Parameters measured include exercise frequency, blood pressure, weight, height, body mass index, total cholesterol (including HDL and LDL cholesterol) and triglycerides. The Diabetes Screening is offered through an A1C test for employees who select to have it. It is recommended participants complete questionnaires prior to the screening. It is also recommended participants fast for 12 hours prior, but it is not required and participants should consult their primary care provider, prior to fasting, if diabetic.
